# Ao Fu

> Co-founder, Pome. London.

I spent eight years at Oxford, first on a math degree, then a PhD in engineering. Somewhere in the middle I started an education company, and I've been building ever since: classrooms, then video games, now AI agents.

These days I'm making agents behave. I co-founded [Pome](https://pome.sh), where we build verified sandboxes for AI agents: digital twins of GitHub, Slack, Stripe, Gmail and Linear, so an agent can do real work without touching real accounts. Every run comes back scored, so you see what the agent actually did, not what it says it did. We're also exploring how the same twins can work as environments for RL training and evaluation.

Outside work: golf, basketball, and PuPu, my Yorkie. At my graduation he was the only dog there, and somehow the one getting congratulated.

## Now

- [Pome](https://pome.sh) (2026–): Verified sandboxes for AI agents. The twins are open source.

## Before

- [Vakoi AI](https://vakoi.ai) (2026): AI agents for video games. Testing them against mocks that lied is how Pome started.
- [EduArc AI](https://eduarc.page) (2025–2026): An AI workspace for teachers that sticks to the actual curriculum.
- Tuo Education (2021–): My first company, $1M+ ARR. It's where I learned to sell, build and run one.

## Questions I keep coming back to

- How much of a company can agents run, and which parts should stay human?
- What happens to mathematics when AI gets good at it? I studied it, and I still don't have a settled answer.

## Photos

- [Degree day](https://www.aopu.me/photos/degree-day): Oxford. Eight years there, and PuPu came too.

## Writing

I haven't written anything yet. But I will.
